Rules of transportation

The General rules of airline traffic of passengers and luggage are developed on the basis of the Air code of Republic of Uzbekistan, positions of the international contracts of Republic of Uzbekistan in view of standards and recommended practice of the ICAO.

 

Important liquids carry-on information

According to the new regulations of Uzbekistan State Aviation Security Administration which comes in force from December 15, 2007, air travelers may carry liquids, gels and aerosols in their carry-on bag when going through security checkpoints.
Liquids must be carried in individual containers with a maximum capacity of 100/3.4 oz. each.
The containers must be packed in one transparent re-sealable plastic bag that does not exceed 20 cm x 20cm (8 inches x 8 inches) or equivalent to 1 liter capacity per passenger.

  Items must fit in the bag comfortably and the bag must be completely closed. Each traveler can use only one clear plastic bag.
All liquids carried on must be presented separately to the screeners at the security checkpoints for examination.
All other liquids, gels and aerosols in containers larger than 100 ml must be packed in your checked baggage.

Exemptions to the liquids rule apply for liquid medicine, baby formula/food or special diet products.

Liquid Duty Free items purchased in the airport or onboard must be carried in a separate clear plastic bag. Additionally, Duty Free liquid purchases must display satisfactory proof that the liquid was purchased on the day(s) of travel but not more of one liter originally packed by the factory of 40 proof alcohols per one passenger

Traveling with children

Infants under two years of age are carried at 10 per cent of the relevant adult fare. Tickets for other children under 2 years traveling with the same adult and children from 2 to 12 years can be bought at discounts provided for by Uzbekistan Airways tariffs. Such children will have a separate seat and free baggage allowance.
When a ticket is bought for a child and at the check-in the passenger (or a person escorting the child) shall provide to the staff of the airlines a document (a birth certificate) confirming the child’s age
.Special rules apply to children traveling alone.
Transportation of unattended children on international routes is from 5 years of age.
Children can travel alone on CIS and local routes from 7 years of age.
Transportation of an unattended child shall be paid:
- 100% of the normal tariff for the child of 5 to 8 years of age;
- 75% of the normal tariff for the child of 8 to 12 years of age;
- 100% of the normal tariff for the child older than 12 years.
Children traveling alone may be allowed onboard only after his or her parents sign an Agreement for Unattended Child Transportation, which you can receive at the departure airport.

Transportation of small animals and birds

Small animals and birds are admitted for transportation only after fulfillment appropriate rules of a country of departure, transit, destination, and only certificates and admission required by veterinary officials are had. Transportation of small animals and birds is not including admitted norm of carriage and is paid due to tariffs for excess luggage.

Following animals are admitted for transportation in passengers cabin:
- Dogs, cats, monkeys, birds whose mass together with container (cage) must not exceed 8 kg. If the mass exceeds 8 kg animals and birds must be transported in cargo compartments of aircraft only.
- Guide dogs belonging to blind and deaf passengers with no limitation in mass but having dog-collar and muzzle and they are tied at the feet of their passengers.

 

 

Dangerous things in passenger’s luggage

To avoid misunderstandings, you should get the information about the procedure of transportation dangerous goods by aircraft, which you have in you ticket. In point of guarantee passenger’s security on flights Uzbekistan Airways, it is prohibited to carriage in cabin as a hand luggage following goods: scissors, knives, make-up things, and others.
